Protip: Wait for "K.O." before you start dancing.

First off, Kensou has some sick viper moves, much love to him and Houston reppin' in Atlanta. For all of those that don't know what's happening, at the final match, Viper whiffs and ultra so Sagat initiates one. Liston starts dancing cuz he thinks the Sagat ultra is gonna hit, Kensou starts to walk away but sees viper NOT DEAD. Kensou proceeds to finish the match before Liston got back on the sticks.

Lesson learned: Dance when you're sure he's dead.

SDTekken SF4 Tournament in Games On at Pacific Beach, San Diego

Wassup all, it's Faiz posting in sunny sunny San Diego.

I just got back from the SDTekken SF4 tournament and it was awesome. Good turnout, no problems whatsoever, and great players came to play great games.

Anyways, I got up with N8monster from SDTekken crew this morning to help him set up for the tournament at Games On in Pacific Beach. Pardon any mistakes in my blog as I'm not sure of the places around here.

So we started the tournament at 2pm today and it ended roughly around 5. First off, N8 pretty much gave me ideas on how to run tournaments as I'm trying to learn how to get things started for us East Coasters; and their setup was dope. They had 3 stations of ps3 that were all being showed at large screens that are hanging in the middle of the store so no one had to be behind the players to watch them. I was pretty much the bitch of SDTekken today, running around setting up systems, grabbing boxes of prizes, and filming the fights aside from being in the tournament myself!






But I found out that N8 doesn't even take commission from these tournaments, he's in it for the love of the game and the community. Very noble of him, but I still wanted a wall scroll for all the stuff I did, haha.


Look at me with my shit-eating grin. I look like a creep, and adding to it is me with no voice since I lost it yelling my ass off the night before. Saying, "Good match man, hehehehe" with your voice gone makes you look like a rapist.

Speaking of which, I didn't do as bad as I thought I would. I repped east coast, y'all heard?!



I still lost but it was a great learning experience; and the one thing I learned from Socal SF4 players: SoCal is the army of BOXERS AND BLANKAS. Holy shit, everyone and their mamas was a Boxer or Blanka user.



Either way, there were a lot of people that I believed enjoyed themselves in this tournament.
With groups like SDTekken, I can understand why they have such a cultured and strong video game/tourney community. Players give back to their community without asking for anything in return. That's something we can learn from them.

First place: Sanchez - sick dictator right here here. Funny guy too, and oh! He recognizes me from movies! Yay! Matters alot for a lowly stuntman/actor such as I.

Second place: Jay aka Viscant, Blanka and Dhalsim player. He and Sanchez had a great match.

Third place: Shiggles? Shigel? I don't know if I got his name right but this dude was funny as hell too. Go get those burgers you said you wanted to have, haha.

Fourth place: Probably the dude that I was following all day, Andrew V. He had a great Blanka and I probably came off like a wierdo trying to talk to him while I lost my voice.
And he had his lady friend at the tourney too, aww. My ex wouldn't go to my tourneys. >_<

What's good everyone, Faiz here...but in the west coast.

Funny story, not 10 minutes has passed after 'I touched down here in Cali, but I'm already in a tournament held by the SD Tekken crew.

They're holding a SF4 Tournament at Game On in sunny San Diego and I happen to be here so I'm going to get a camera and tape the event for you all AND compete. I know I'm a bit scrubby, but if I could win at least one match, I'm good. Reppin' East Coast afterall, right?

Hey everyone. Faiz here.

Sorry for not being able to keep this blog up, I am trying to find a way to really be able to post something here everyday but my schedule seems a bit cluttered. Actually, for the next two weeks I'll be over in California.

Cuz you know, it knows how to party.

Anyways, while I'm over there, I'll still try to hit this blog up as much as I can. Who knows? I might be able to get some free time and shoot over to arcades in the west coast and see some Street Fighter 4 action. Not like I'm gonna win though >_<

Also....people! We haven't set up the exact day of our next tournament but....IT'S GOING TO BE SOMETIME IN MID MAY!

So keep that shit locked, once I get back from my little business trip, Blizz and I are going to knock out an exact date so we can have UCF II: Street Fighter 4 Tournament!

GREAT FUCKING TURNOUT for a first tourney, much props to Tarief for winning today's tournament. I just came back so I'll be importing the fights into my computer so I can make a video for all of you but great job again, today was awesome. I recently just got back from...."the after party," or something. Which leads me to say that, I Love You Man is a great movie, watch it.

yo it's solid been awhile since i last posted been having some shitty days. But anyway since our tournament is coming up i feel that this picture is relevant.

Wassup everyone, it's Faiz posting in what has been...a week (almost).

First and foremost:

Anyways, I've been pre-occupied with Resident Evil 5. Goddamn, I love this game. Ever since Resident Evil Zero have I been asking for a coop mode. Here it is and it is delicious.

Speaking of delicious, Sheva is a pony. Yeah, that's right, I said it. Sheva is sexy as hell...but of course she's only a computer generated girl, but have you seen her mocap and voice actress?

Resident Evil 5, Madworld, oh my.

What's good, everyone? Faiz here dropping by before I head off to bed.

Alright people, this week has been great for games. If you guys have been listening to our podcasts, you know some of the games that I've been looking forward to has finally been released.

Even better is that two of them was released this week.

First one is Madworld.

Goddamit Sega, why don't you make more badass games like this? WHY DON'T YOU?! Fuck Sonic. Really? Sonic and the Black Knight? It probably is gonna suck since it's named much like Martin Lawrence's Disney movie....which sucked.

Anyways, among my friends, it is no secret the I LOVE the production values of Gametrailers.com. Everything from their reviews and especially their retrospectives; all well written, great editing, and awesome production. What I wanted to do is to edit our own video reviews but why repeat something I can just link to, right?

I have tried this game and I just LOVE it. It's the comedy and gameplay of both No More Heroes and Godhand and the plot situation of Manhunt. I recommend this game for those that want to have a good laugh on something sick and twisted, haha.

Ultra Combo Finish Tournament Update!

Alright, as you can see, Blizzy B posted earlier about our tournament to keep you guys on the LOOP on what's happening.

This week has been crazy hectic getting the last pieces of our tournament together but it has turned up great results.

Someone posted a comment before on what kind of TV we'll have. Well, I've acquired a projector (Cinego) for the tournament so our fights will be played large enough for the whole cafe to see. We're really trying to make our first tournament be a great one so please come and play (or watch) the great fights that we'll be having on March 21.

Hey all, this is Faiz.

Alright, see, if any of you have been listening to our podcast lately, you guys probably hear us pimping that tournament we're holding hard. As much this is true, there's also a second reason why we wanted to have this tournament....to give attention to this little cafe in Voorhees.

South Jersey Java.

We're not gonna front, we WANT people to know about this cafe. It's a really cozy place to just chill at AND the people there are nice. The owners are just great people just wanting the place to get more business, so we're doing our thing to help them out. So even if you don't come to our UCF: Street Fighter 4 Tournament, just stop by and check the place out. Who knows, you might love it as much as we do.

Also, check it out every thursday nights at 8 for open mic night. It's a great place to take your significant other for a night out with cheap entertainment; and this is what this blog post is about. Not only South Jersey Java is a nice place to eat and relax in, but Blizz and I are kinda regulars during open mic night. So check out Blizz and I performing at South Jersey Java.

Sup everyone, Faiz here.

Solid and Blizzy actually just left my place and it looks like Solid posted something. Man, he drives fast.

HOLY SHIT, IT'S 3:30. What the shit?! No wonder Solid posted something before I did, I fell asleep at the computer waiting for these podcasts to finally publish.

Blizzy, newcomer Solid, and I made another podcast tonight and I think I finally can post it on here.

Well, we went ahead and started talking about the general views about movie adaptation of video games. It's a bit funny though because how we started it all was that we were watching a low production porn called Left 4 Head which is obviously inspired by the game, Left 4 Dead.

Truly an awesome viewing experience with friends. Especially if you're a fan of classy adult videos and Left 4 Dead. Haha.

Tonight, we have a fairly long podcast, it being 3 parts, but I'd like to believe that it's entertaining. If you want to hear fairly funny group of geeks that talk about random shit from games, to movies, to current events - give it a listen. It won't disappoint you.

Ultra Combo Finish Tournament

Alright, Faiz here to let you all know about Ultra Combo Finish's first ever tournament.

Ultra Combo Finish is proud to hold the first UCF Tournament at South Jersey Java in Voorhees, NJ. In light of the Street Fighter 4 Gamestop Tournaments, we've met and chatted with various Street Fighter 4 players locally and decided that one tournament isn't enough to gauge how decent the players are from around here. So we decided that we'd run tournaments to better hone the skills of our fellow south jersey players.

Rules of the tournament.

1) This is an Xbox 360 tournament only. Sorry PS3 peeps. Once I find someone that is willing to lend their PS3 for the cause we should hold some PS3 tourneys too, but this first tournament is only for the Xbox.

This is also a Street Fighter 4 only tournament.

2) Single elimination.

3) The fighter that is the first to win 2 matches of 5 round matches will advance to the next round. Best of 5 rounds, best of 3 matches.

4) Both players are allowed to switch characters in between matches.

5) PLEASE bring your stick or pad or whatever it is that you play with. I don't care if you play with the 360 pad just BRING your equipment.

6) The registration fee is $15 dollars.
You can send us an email if you want to let us know that you're coming, shoot it over at ultracombofinish@gmail.com

This will make it easier for us to have an estimate on how many people are coming so we can regulate our time at the tournament faster.

Let us know if you're bringing other people to play.

7) The registration fee covers your entry AND you get free food. Yes, there is food. We got that in-house catering service for your dietary needs.

8) The registration fee shall be divided so that a portion of that will go to the first place winner and there will also be a consolation prize for the second place winner. Fuck you, third.

9) The meetup begins at 6pm on Saturday, March 21st at South Jersey Java. Directions are here if you need it. Also, just check up on the place on your free time, it's a real cozy place to just chill at.

Registration closes at 6:15pm. So get there early and maybe we can have a few casual games before the tourney begins.

9) Don't be a douchebag. We're playing Street Fighter 4, not a bro game like Gears, no need to delve into dickery. Just have fun, enjoy the day, and get some great fights in.

Berlin, NJ Gamestop Round 2 Tournament

And it's Faiz again.

I lost the second round ;_; but it was okei, because he was a great Chun Li player. I'm finally done with that tournament so time to move on to greater and better tournaments.

Anyways, I've documented the day so here are few videos that kinda summed up the day for me.

Anyways, it was a great tourney. People brought their game and those who are moving to round 3 ARE worthy of it. Best of luck for those fighters and this is their video.


Funny thing too, Steven Chang, old school street fighter 2 tourney legend and was ranked 5th in the country, apparently lives down here. LIVES DOWN HERE IN JERSEY. Who knew? Well, he has every Street Fighter game in CABINET form at his house. Goddamn, I was really trying to push him to make his house the Jersey version of Denjin Arcade or something, haha. Speaking of which, he just dropped 14k for a SF4 cabinet. Jesus.

Anyways, this Steven Chang was talking to us kids like we don't know what we're doing....and maybe we don't but we definitely look forward to seeing him in our tournament this March 21st. Will the veteran overrun our tournament or will an unknown rookie step up to the challenge? Only way to find out is to come to our first ever tournament.

Berlin, NJ Gamestop Round 2 Tournament Pregame

Wassup everyone.

Today is the round 2 of the Gamestop Tournament so to all of those competitors, good luck and I hope you guys fight a great fight.

Also, I heard that the Winter Brawl is happening today in Philly as well. I'm quite new to the whole tourney scene around here so to all of those fighting in that too, good luck. I'm sure GVN crew throws a great tourney.

So I'm out, I'll be hitting up Blizzy and he's just gonna prep me up for the round 2.
Hope I win, haha.

Berlin, NJ Gamestop Round 1 Tournament

Faiz again, here.

This would seem to be a bit late to put up but since later today the second round of the Gamestop Tournament is happening and I might as well document what's going on in our area. I don't know what happened in other stores so any of you that come across this blog from other parts of Jersey wanna let us know what went down at your Gamestop Tournament, just drop a comment and I'll be sure to add any information on here.

Well, I happened to win our local Gamestop round 1 tourney along with someone else. I really didn't get his name nor does he talk to me on Xbox Live (;_;) but here we are cheesing it.

I'm the Asian guy cheesing it like I was Chester.

And there's video but it's not like we had a high def look at the match gameplay. Then again, it was round 1 tourneys, nothing would be too amazing to watch.
Anyways, here are my last 2 matches before I won.




This guy had a decent Gief, but I had experience playing my friend Ant aka Wrestlemania, for a while and it helped me defeat this guy. It was still close, he had me beat 2 round to none and somehow I managed to comeback to win 3 rounds straight. Good matches, I hope he shows up to our tournament.



This dude played as a Ryu and we had a mirror match.
I don't know what it was but I clean sweeped him. I even stepped away from the controller after I threw that Ultra after I SRK'ed him. Oddly enough, this was my final match in my bracket when I had a much more difficult time with Gief. Anyways, it was fun.

Alright guys, time for me to go and any of you that are close to the Berlin Circle where the Gamestop is, stop by at 2pm and watch round 2 of the Gamestop Tournament.
Also, good luck on everyone that is fighting today.

First post ever!

Hey everyone, welcome! We're Ultra Combo Finish, a small east coast group that believes we have some great players here that no one knows about.

With all of the hype surrounding the release of Street Fighter 4, we've heard many great names in competitive SF scene such as Ed Ma or Gootecks, but all of them are in California. Without taking anything from them, we wanted to show that there are some great east coast players that could just as well hold up with the west coast crowd.

This is not meant for an east vs west rivalry; we just want people to know that there are great players here as well, through the promotion of video game tournaments. We don't plan to become the next Evo, but if we can gain some recognition to east coast players, then we've fulfilled our mission.
